Cindy Nguyen

Cindy (“Sid”) Nguyen is a noted Southern US light-tackle, shallow water fishing pro on the Columbia Sportswear PFG team. Cindy comes from a long lineage of fishing, tracing her family history to fishing villages in Vietnam. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas with a rod in her hand fishing the Gulf Coast with her family.

Cindy has graced the cover and pages of notable publications such as Coastal Angler, Salt Water Sportsman, Fly & Light Tackle Angler, is a Florida Sportsman contributing writer and avid photographer. Cindy is a current member of the Florida Outdoor Writer’s Association and faculty member on the nation’s longest running and most popular educational seminar on recreational marine angling The Salt Water Sportsman National Seminar Series featuring George Poveromo.

With over 60 species of fish to her credit, Cindy has combed the waters from the Gulf Coast to Mexico, down to the Costa Rica and as far as Vietnam in pursuit of the catch. If she is not travelling the country attending the sport fishing industry’s largest events, she can be found “pushing reds” (her favorite species to target) in Texas marshes. She is currently pending six women’s IGFA line class records with world renowned alligator gar Captain Kirk Kirkland.
